Kids!  Technology! Education!

No matter where I've been in the world, one thing holds true.  Kids are kids!  They want to laugh, take selfies, have fun; don't we all?  On one level, all kids understand the need to be educated.  It is my belief as educators, we have to draw that out by engaging and empowering our students in their own learning journies.

During the last 5 years, I've found utilizing technology at the right time in the right manner has done just that. My personal journey has been a rocky one. I've improved my technological skills, but I'm far from an expert.  This is my journey into technology from the halls of Ramona High School in Riverside, California to Singapore and onward. I hope by sharing my experiences, knowledge and tribulations, I can inspire you to go on your own learning journey into technology.

Singapore has consistently ranked highly in international surveys on technology integration in their schools.  So what is happening in Sinaporean schools? Click here to find out what I discovered.

Technology is like any other tool, finding the right one at the right time is always the trick. The web is full of tools making finding the right one often difficult.  Here are just some that might be helpful.

Here you will find a little about me.  I will continue to add tid-bits from my trip including information on living in Singapore, and traveling in the area.

About this site

This website was created as the capstone project for my Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Program trip to Singapore from January to May of 2015.  It is a reflection of what I learned from conversations, observations and particiapation in 4 Singaporean schools and informal discussions with numerous educators. Information from my own school, and my personal journey into technology implementation are included.  The goal is to create a space for teachers to learn and share their knowledge, questions, and perhaps frustratons of using technology as a tool in education.
