Technology Tools

Everyday a new website or application is added to the world-wide web.  What tools are useful to one, might not be to someone esle.  On each of the pages listed below I've listed tools, I've found useful along with a few suggestions on how they might be used in the classroom.  By no means is this a comprehensive list or an exhaustive one and it is in no particular order.  This is a living document which will constantly change as education continues to understand the role of technology in the classroom.

One thing I believe holds true, CHANGE often leads to CHAOS which takes COURAGE!

Embrace the 3Cs and add technology in your teacher tool box!

TOOLS OF THE MONTH

A game-based classroom response system. Quick, engaging, easy to use!  Students can respond individually or as teams.  The system keeps track of results which are easily displayed to the class or kept for later.  I've watched adults and students of various ages partake in a game; everyone was thoroughly engaged!  A GREAT formative assessment tool!

Be sure to check this one out!

About this site

This website was created as the capstone project for my Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Program trip to Singapore from January to May of 2015.  It is a reflection of what I learned from conversations, observations and particiapation in 4 Singaporean schools and informal discussions with numerous educators. Information from my own school, and my personal journey into technology implementation are included.  The goal is to create a space for teachers to learn and share their knowledge, questions, and perhaps frustratons of using technology as a tool in education.
