Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching

I received a Fulbright award as part of the Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Program.  This award provided a grant allowing me to travel to Singapore.  During my stay, I had the opportunity to be attached to four schools in the western portion of the country to see first hand how technology is being integrated into their curriculum.  I was able to audit two class at the National Institute of Education, Singapore which is the only teacher training institution in the country.  Throughout my stay, I spoke with a number of educators, students and parents about both Singaporean education and the American system.  It was an experience of a life-time.  For more information about the program go to:  www.fulbrightteacherexchange.org

Personally

I am a single, adventurous woman who truely embraces being a life-long learner.  I grew up in Riverside, California where I was a competitive swimmer.  Swimming gave me the opportunity to meet people from around the world and the opportunity to attend UCLA.  I continue to swim and support the UCLA Bruins.  I love traveling to new places whether in the US or around the world.  Places I've been so far include: Russia, Germany, Luxembourg, Scotland, Dubai, Singapore, Indonesia.

About this site

This website was created as the capstone project for my Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Program trip to Singapore from January to May of 2015.  It is a reflection of what I learned from conversations, observations and particiapation in 4 Singaporean schools and informal discussions with numerous educators. Information from my own school, and my personal journey into technology implementation are included.  The goal is to create a space for teachers to learn and share their knowledge, questions, and perhaps frustratons of using technology as a tool in education.
